Preventing Acid Reflux


Acid reflux usually occurs if you overeat or eat or drink something which does not match with your digestive system. It can also occur due to aging; the older you get the more the chances of acid reflux. However, preventing acid reflux is easy.

The main reasons for acid reflux is attributed to the intake of spicy food, alcohol, consumption of milk and milk products such as coffee, tea etc. To stop acid reflux, you can stop taking any of the above mentioned things in your diet and you may feel a change. If you feel that you need to keep including the above mentioned in your diet, then you can try other natural acid reflux relievers.

The most common acid reflux relief provider is ginger tea. Ginger tea can be made at home or you can buy it at a health store. To make ginger tea, you need grated ginger, add it to water, bring it to boil, add honey to taste and slowly sip the concoction. This will relieve you of your acid reflux problem.

Eat a banana. Banana is a known antacid as it acts against the acid in the tummy and brings instant relief from acid reflux.


Chew a few cloves. Clove is known to be an acid reflux reliever and it will help you to get rid of your acid reflux disease.

Some people recommend tea made from the bark of the slippery elm tree. This is supposed to contain properties essential in combating acid reflux. Make the tea and slip it slowly once or twice a day and you should be free of acid reflux.

In short, there are many ways to prevent acid reflux and most of the ingredients necessary to combat acid reflux is in our home itself. All you need is a little bit of ingenuity and you can be rid of your acid reflux problem forever.
